High Precision Forest Inventory Data can be extracted from both Lidar and Image Based Point Clouds. Proprietary algorithm's allow us to extract individual trees and associated height from the point cloud data. This unleashes a new era in forest management as this product moves traditional forest inventory from a statistical sampling approach to a complete population measurement.
Area based methods are employed for large forested areas and individual tree delineation techniques can be applied to determine individual tree measurements such as mean crown width, DBH, taper, total merchanatable volume, operational merchantable voume and above ground biomass. Our Level 1 products are based on Lidar derived ground elevation models and our Level 2 products utilize image based ground elevation models extracted from the SFM surface model.
